Ha Tinh VTTN trainers
On the move each month!
By Le The Long - Ha Tinh VTTN trainer
….we had the idea to deliver
receptive skills (Teacher
training for Reading and
Listening lessons) to every
teacher around Ha Tinh
province by travelling
around and holding VTTN
District Workshops.
During the July
2007 VTTN
Provincial Workshop
in Ha Tinh City, we
had the idea to
deliver receptive
skills (Reading and
Listening) to every
teacher around Ha
Tinh province by
travelling around and holding VTTN District Workshops.
Now this has come true!
On October 27th 28th, we gave our first busy, but fun and
meaningful, training weekend to 35 English teachers
from around Duc Tho and Vu Quang districts (50 km
north west of Ha Tinh)The VTTN district workshop was
made possible by the support and leadership of Ms
Nguyen Dinh Chien (ELT Specialist of Ha Tinh). The
training was delivered by Mr. Trung, Mr. Long (Ha Tinh
VTTN Trainers) and 3 selected teachers in Duc Tho who
had participated in the July 2007 VTTN Provincial.

All the participants worked very enthusiastically sharing
activities and ideas together as they all knew each
other well from working and living near each other. The
participants also appreciated having the workshops
close to where they live.
After the workshop, the teachers found themselves
more confident and able to adapt lessons from the
textbook and to design their own questions that are
suitable to their own students' levels and interests. This
was also a big chance to develop more trainers for the VTTN network.

We had a nice
demonstration lesson
with the peer teaching,
but unfortunately we
could not do it in a real
class because it was
Sunday and the students
don't come to school on
that day.
The next workshop has been scheduled now in another
district in late November and it will be on a Friday, and
Saturday so we can practice teaching in a real class
and the teachers can do observations and further
share their experiences.
